I purchased one myself for my niece, it should arrive tomorrow so I'll report back....0

I pick mine up tomorrow. Glad I got the HP at the lower price. I asked a couple of techies in work and the opinion is that the HP scrapes it unless I want the inbuilt card reader that the Dell has and the Dell has N Wireless which connect faster than G Wireless (which the HP has).
All in opinion was both very good value for money laptops and both will perform well for the purposes I require.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I wouldn't buy another Toshiba laptop as my current one has been back to them 3 times, though I can't fault their customer service as they have repaired it outside of warranty as it's been the same fault. It just that when they take it away it's gone for 2 weeks at a time.
I think for the money I'm paying the HP is a good deal as it's well under £300 so I'm not expecting Sony quality.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Yeah for that money, in three years, I'll be replacing it anyway.0

The HP arrived this morning, just setting it up (removing the crap they always install, adding dropbox etc). Office starter does seem fine for my niece's needs, it seems to have all the functions she needs and in return for it being free, you have to put up with a tiny advert from Microsoft. I've very pleased with it considering the price.0
