It is now 12:15 and FTSE is at 5899.0 - a drop of only 3.5 points. Far smaller than I predicted. I'm flabbergasted! Perhaps my logic is wrong.
Maybe you can't draw conclusions from a short period when investing.....
So forgive my previous calculation. I'm afraid I got carried away and started using the same 'logic' as those idiots on the House Price issue...
Damn, there goes my next get rich quick scheme :rotfl:0 -

Only funds which are up are UK Property and European Equities.
Nothing exciting or too worrying given my risk profile, but I was wondering if this is happening to others too?
These things happen! Don't worry about it. In fact if you are investing any new money, or even re-investing dividends, these dips are rather helpful!

You bought into the 2018 World Cup euphoria! Now the realisation has set in that all the infrastructure has to be built!
But you bought the wrong one? Mine (Neptune) is up close to 20% still from Oct. And the 148% Jan 09 - Jan 10 was fairly good!If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

When I first started investing, I panicked and sold half of my funds when the portfolio dropped 4%, but over the following 3 days the market picked up and (the funds which I had sold) gained 3% as the market bounced back.
I couldn't buy back in again quick enough due to the settlement dates, so I lost 4%!
Had I sat tight and had the conviction of my investment strategy, my loss would have been minimal.
So in short, marathon runners rarely do well in a 100 mtr sprint...0 -
