When is cash King'?

With a moderate mortgage and savings i was wondering if cash is now the most 'desirable' investment--i once saw a chart of periods in life when certain things are most 'powerful' it stated that having cash was last desirable back in 1971 -3---how do you 'realise' this desirability--do you invert in something that is inflation proof?--paying the mortgage off to me is not attractive.

How on earth can cash be king when inflation is currently 3 times the average return you will get from cash?

but if you wait longer it will be worth less--if it is invested correctly it will ride the market---inflation is still low historically

Gold ---the enemy of inflation.---dont know what the inflation rate is but i get 4 pc on my savings(and pay 2pc on my mortgage)--i doubt the inflation rate in your neck of the woods is 12pc

I would say that now is the complete opposite to "cash is king". IMHO, now is the time to hold assets such shares and/or commodities.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

I thought you implied 'Cash is King' and Cash is the most 'Powerful' thing to have?

What made you change your mind (other than common sense?)

let me get this right. You post a thread arguing that cash is king and then, eight posts later you say you're going to use that cash to buy an asset because cash is erroding in the bank.

So which is it? Cash is king or gold is king. Make your bloody mind up.
