  • Why not plant a memorial plant or something in the garden? Just an idea, but it's something you as a family could do to remember her by. We all mourn our losses in our own way and sometimes having something tangible can help children to understand remembrance.

Just want to send you a big hug...

Thank you, that is a wonderful idea soupdragon.

Feels weird, have just had to throw her bed out (smelt of wee, it was that or wash it) and our other cat has gone for a wander, I hope she comes back tonight.

Just feels a bit weird in the house right now but I do know that I did what was for the best. Thanks for all of your thoughts.

    :hello: Blue_Monkey,

Just want to send you and your family *hugs*

So sorry to hear of your loss of your cat.
  • Thinking of you all and your dearly loved cat this evening. So very sorry for you, so heartbreaking a decision. If it helps at all, a little snip from an interesting book by Amelia Kinkaide, an American animal psychic. She wrote; 'so very rarely do I speak to an animal that says to me 'they let me go too soon, I wanted to stay & suffer some more....'' Please know the hardest, most agonising decision you have to make is borne out of your true love for your beloved pet. It doesn't get any easier, but please know that 'first time' is definately the hardest, also because you don't know what's actually going to happen. Having had six pets PTS over the last 30 odd years, the first time was the worst of all. Mainly because I didn't know that even after death, cats eyes remain open, which really upset me and I so wish the vet had warned us.

Sending sympathy and love to you.

Its awful having to put a much loved pet to sleep. I had to do this with Cat 1 before Christmas. Even now a month on I still miss him and wonder did I let him suffer too long.
