No a lot of help but given they are illegal in the UK your not going to find any easy wasy to find the "genuine" distributor, or have much comeback if there are issues.0 -
I didnt think it was illegal to buy them, it was just illegal to store pirated games on them? I may well be wrong though?0

They are not illegal, typical scaremongering.
Problem with the Edge products is they are a bit difficult to get hold of, and some of the places selling them are a bit shady.
Check the official resellers page on the iEdge website for UK sellers:
http://www.edge-ds.cn/reseller.html
I bought 2 iEdge from gamekool.com (the first one listed as a Chinese reseller) they arrived and work fine, cheap too. Just took bloody ages, about a month.
If I wanted one now I would probably try to phone up one of the uk sellers and make sure they have it in stock and even see if you can pick it up in person if they happen to be near you. It'll cost a few quid more than gamekool but you won't have to wait up to a month and should have a bit more secuirty if there is a problem with it.0 -

Made illegal in the middle of 2010.0 -
why do you want an iedge card ?? the r4i will do the same and better to get hold of.

Sorry gjchester, I wasn't aware of that.
Not even a new story either, I'm obviously talking bs.
Hmm, this is significant. Do the UK laws cover modchips as well? Mad that you can buy and own something but can't do what you want to it. I suppose that they have a point in saying that the fact the devices can be used for non-infringing purposes is not a defence. Surely all guns should be banned then since they can be used for legitimate purposes (if there are such things) as well as to murder people. But the rules are different obviously, this is about money.
UK sites are still selling them though (iEdge, not guns).0 -

Only because I had an edge card last time, had no problems with it, and no how to use it. A couple of years ago when I bought it I read up that they were better than the r4 card.
Will look at the r4i, where is the best place to get one?

So you thanked gjchester for the link to the BBC article explaining that they are illegal to sell or import yet are still asking for a best supplier?0
