That's great news! Well done, you! :T
    13. book somewhere nice away for when OH back, either newcastle or york. leaning towards york at the moment.

I love York, but DH and I were disappointed when we stayed overnight on a Saturday for our wedding anniversary. Too many people very drunk and the streets were filthy in the morning.
Oh well, cat neeeeeeeeeeeds 2nd breakfast, she's staaaaaaaaaarrving (so she says).

I'll join her - or have a coffee, at least.

    Morning all

It's been a strange week. I started feeling a bit below par last Saturday and didn't go to the pub with DH. Off work on Monday (but spent most of the day on the laptop, working), back at work Tue/Wed and then off again. Just a cold, but I spent most of the day asleep yesterday and I still feel rough now. Managed to do DH's tax return, though - but couldn't log on to the gateway. Waiting for reply from helpdesk.

I'm hoping to do a few jobs around the house today, but in very short bursts. Also some work for school (starting with lots of e-mails) and rest. It's my day for the school run, too, and then I need to pick up some marking for the weekend. First a coffee and early elevenses - feels like it's going to be a hobbity kind of day.

    Hugs, sticks and spoons

How did everyone else get on?

I S&S'd the kitchen, TD x1, sorted some clean clothes out. Then cleaned the hamster out, to find him hiberating, so I think it might be a bit cold in the dining room  so I've moved him into the slightly warmer kitchen. Hope that does the trick :o Then I've made a start on the dining room, which for some reason DH has decided is a tool store :mad:

Got to stop now though, as into town for my compulsory HH to myself :D

    see you all later!

I honestly don't blame you - I don't like going out in York on an evening either - precisely for the reasons you document! I pay my council tax but the city seems filthy to me at times!

    12. scream at OH's friends for not rsvping to wedding invites, they do know im a bleep at times :D

I think this is extremely bad manners. I sent out 50 invites 2 weeks ago for DH's 50th party and have only received 1 RSVP. It's just so rude.

Stop reading if you don't like ICK

More drama in the night. DS3 came in at 5am feeling sick. I jumped out of bed and hurried him to the bathroon and he tripped over the washing basket. He spent 5 minutes emptying his stomach then we noticed the blood on the floor. He managed to open a flap of skin on the inside of his 3rd toe and more worryingly cut the underside of his little toe at the base in the crease. Big deep cut. DH wouldn't take him to hospital:cool:. I plastered DS3 up and put him back to bed. I couldn't sleep and worried until DH got up at 6.30. DS3 slept until 9.10 then came downsairs hobbling like Jake the peg. I can't see the cut now and he won't let me touch the dressing I can't decide if I need to get it looked at at the minor injuries unit:(. This will involve a £40 taxi fare which we can ill afford before pay day on Monday. Why is January the longest month of the year?

Going to re-bleach the upstairs bathroom now.....

Morning all, not posted much this week but I have been cleaning and decluttering. Only slowly but I've done everything. I'll declutter some lower kitchen cupboards when my back allows.

Hope everyone's OK. It's so cold today, the washing has frozen on the line (but it's staying there) and I keep having to icebreak the birdbath.

Morning all :) DPs still in bed and I've made a start on things downstairs, DW is on Wm is on, TD is on, a bin bag is filled, some washing folded and a few other bits. DSs bedroom and playroom are done, brought a full washing basket out of there, so just need to put their laundry away over the weekend.

Anyone looking to apply to Family Fund and has previously applied, I just contacted them with the WM keeping going on the blink, within a week we've got a letter saying we'll get a card to get a washer/dryer within the next 2 weeks. Much much faster than 2 or 3 years ago when we applied. Bit annoying that you can only use Comet so can't go for best value but hey ho it'll only cost me for the delivery and if it's over the amount. You have to get a 5 year warranty as part of it so for the next 5 years I don't need to worry about a working washer which is great!

Anyways more of the same this afternoon, want to downstairs tidied as much as possible. I think I'll do a general downstairs list written out then work through it. I keep going into the kitchen, make a small space then use it to make more mess (cook/bake or the latest one make soups) never gets totally finished.

On that note I'm off now to do half an hour before DP emerges if anyone wants to join me. I'll try to report back xx
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Okay - this aint gonna happen today :rotfl::rotfl:
I dont have the storage solutions to put all the bits away.
There's sports kit that needs a home - including bows, fletching kit, arrows and other shooting stuff. I mean that might need a new shelf or hooks or something. (these go back to before LB moment - but now we got the kit, archery's a cheep hobby... so long as I dont upgrade anything :rotfl:)

There's music stuff. There's a lap harp with no home? Where the heck can I put that? I dont wanna sell it, I do play it (Downsized from a big one - which I'd deffo have no space for :rotfl: and the swap paid for the garden)

There's books on books. My Name is Nixie and I am a book hoarder!
I cant get rid of them, I cant  I must sort into ones that I want to read again and get brave - or put some in the attic? or... something?

    then there's the clothes pile.
I'm gonna get the 3 for 2 laundry bins at argooose grand total of £10 for 3. line em up under the window and I can sort from there and they're springy ones so can be used for baby bits when (if) the time comes.

So today I'm gonna clear out the little cupboard and see if I can jam the craft stuff in it.
See if I can declutter the last remaining xmas presents (dont ask!)
then tomorow if DH agrees with the laundry bin thing we'll sort the clothes together as then we can get shot of what we dont need.
When he sells his car (hopefully sunday) I'll mention new.. bigger book case - he's just as bad with the books - and we'll see if we can sort the room enough to turn it into a nursery (and if he does sell his car - we'll be DEBT FREE!!! I'll celebrate when it happens :rotfl:)

Sorry I've rambled - I think it sorta helps to put the plan in writing as it were :T:T:rotfl::T:T hopefully the list will be done by the end of tomorrow :)
