  • Monday ~ Kitchen, Utility and Dining areas - DONE!

Woohoo!!! Excellent day and it was even nice enough to play out in the garden with dd which has certainly helped to lift my mood. What a lovely day. Sorry haven't had time to read thread but i hope everyone else has had a good one too :)

Popping in to update. Been sorting things but not flying so decided to do a mad HHT. Have done kitchen everything except mopping which i will do after tea. Living room tidied and swept under furniture, will dust and mop after kitchen. Mumof5 pick the clothes and rubbish and dump it in their bed under the quilts, do this every time and they will get the message or bag the lot up, clothes and rubbish together and tell them they have 1 hour to tidy it into appropriate colours for WM and they have to bin the rubbish or the lot goes into the bin and DO it. It only takes once and as soon as they realise you will do it and it's not an idle threat it gives them a kick up the backside verbally:D. Hugs to all will catch up on thread later.

  • Hi chaps

Not caught up with thread I'm afraid. Did so well the first week I started and the last two went so badly! Determined to do better this week.

I know many of you have small people to work round and that can be majorly challenging, but to be honest I'm really struggling with flying cos I work full time. Not a problem if I have a free evening but many evenings I leave the house at 8am (usually only have time to put a wash on, empty dishwasher or similar before I go), back at 6pm and then often go out within the hour. Somebody please make me some time!

Do you have any secrets of fitting it all in?

Poohbear - Good vibes and flylady support for your Dr's appointment tomorrow.

Shysarah - my cat would love to have a play with that lot!

Kazwookie - hope you feel better

It appears I was only ranting about my lazy family a couple of threads ago. Sadly for the older boys nothing has changed. 5 loads of washing picked up from the floor of their bedrooms. There are enough cups, glasses, plates and cutlery up there for a full dishwasher load. I have filled 2 carrier bags with crisp, sweet, biscuit, chocolate wrappers and another bag with empty drink bottles. I am

    wanders off seething.....

Oh how frustrating for you! How old are they (sorry tried to find your previous posts for a clue but search only showed the first few lines of each post and couldn't see where you've mentioned them). Is it worth telling them that you'll only wash things that are in the basket? Link pocket money to tidy room? Star chart if they're still small enough?
Bribery? Refuse lifts if they're older and have a social life? Sorry if you've tried this and I'm trying to teach grandma to suck eggs! I know what it's like to have a mucky teenager but he is getting better! but very slowly!

Mumto5 - I remember my Mum bagging up all my dirty laundry one day and when I arrived home [she was in waiting] she threw it all out of the bedroom window - I had to run round picking it all up, including me knicks!! I never let it build up in my bedroom again - I was soooooo embarrased - Get Hard and threaten and then carry through - I learnt my lesson

  • Flying this week is curtailed a bit, we lost a close family friend today, and I'm not quite sure how DS is taking it. Art therapy for now whilst he's processing the info - he's not one to talk about things, but will do in time, so currently making a condolence card and drawing his feelings out.

If and when I can get him asleep, I will then fly on a few necessary bits.

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

I have a litre of semi skim UHT milk in the fridge out of which I have made only two cups of tea. I cannot drink milk as it doesn't like me. I do not have anyone I can give it to. Will it freeze? If I defrost if for a guest will they be able to tell its been frozen?

They won;t be able to tell it was frozen, but will be able to tell it was UHT ;) Can you bake with it, then buy fresh milk for guests (which you can freeze for later :) )
