Ok, seems like the walk around outside in the fresh air checking on the farm buildings and my parents house did me some good.

Came back in and cleaned out the fire of ashes and topped up the kindling basket (well it is a plastic trug i use in the garden but not much to garden this time of year). Also fed the birds some old muesli and bread and topped up the bird bath.

    Then attacked the list,

Monday ~ Kitchen, Utility and Dining areas
    Level One
    Sweep and mop floors
    [STRIKE]Declutter and wipe worksurfaces[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Wipe ALL large appliances[/STRIKE]
    Clean blinds/curtains and light shades
[STRIKE]Clean out fridge.. use up those almost passed their best things [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Shine sink and taps[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
Throw away 10 items from each room! - Glass jar put in bag to take to glass bin, erm erm...
[STRIKE]Wipe table and replace cloth if necessary
Wipe and replace all small appliances[/STRIKE]

    Extras
    1. [STRIKE]HHI [/STRIKE]None needed..
    2. [STRIKE]Wipe over hob and clean cooker knobs[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Get rid of the webs and dust
Wipe stainless steel so it is free from finger pints (baby oil for shining is good apparently!)
    [/STRIKE] No stainless steel

    Quick question...

I have a litre of semi skim UHT milk in the fridge out of which I have made only two cups of tea. I cannot drink milk as it doesn't like me. I do not have anyone I can give it to. Will it freeze? If I defrost if for a guest will they be able to tell its been frozen?

Ok time for a coffee and a play on twitter. Then I will wander round with some bags for de-cluttering.

    xx

    Hi all

Sorry, I haven't read the thread yet - wanted to quickly say that I will be Flying this week, just not today, as Mr LW is working from home today and finishing in a couple of minutes.

Many thanks FCC for the lists, and to all Fred members for friendship/encouragement.

Grateful sorry to hear about MIL; safe journey for her, I hope - so many seem to be departing for the Summerlands just recently.:(

Anyways - I have a half-varnished door on the kitchen floor (got to flip it over and do the other side tomorrow) and I've made cakes for Mr LW's lunchbox, nut loaf for the freezer, and lasagne for today's and tomorrows dins, this morning.

Off out in a mo, taking advantage of Mr LW being around to take me into town - need to change a PIN on my new bank card, bank a cheque, make optician appointment, visit Boots, and finally visit Waitrose - I particularly like their tinned toms, so going to stock up!

Gotta run - will catch up with what I can of the lists during rest of week.

Not sure about UHT, but I routinely freeze semi-skimmed and full fat milk - it's fine, I use it in drinks, on cereals etc, and can't tell the difference ........... unless I haven't left it to defrost for long enough in which case you end up pouring out milky ice cubes!

Thanks Mrs B -- Fellow yellowbelly I see.. *waves*

It was a freebie bottle from the voucher in my mums JS magazine but its worth saving I think as I am fed up of buying milk everytime man comes just to make a few cuppas. I will have to dig around for some small tubs I have and freeze it in small portions.

Have just decluttered 21 jars/bottles. I have not been to the glass bank (ever) so I have been collecting them for years. OOoo It was Sooooooooo satisfying tossing them in the glass bin.

I have had a little tidy up in the living room and am just about to sort out my wool bag. Last night I had a mini tantrum trying to find my yellow wool as there is so many balls in there it is mad. I got a lot for Christmas and am working on making big big big granny squares right now so need all the DK out and not the other types. Think I will pop each ball thats started in a sarnie bag too to prevent them tangling up.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh my cat, Jinx, is picking bits out of the two dustbin dance bags.. I best get on x

  • GRRRRRR!!!!!

Took day off work. (Lost £7 ish)

£10 taxi fare to take DD1 to hospital.

Clinic was running 45 mins late.

When she was eventually called in they had to admit that her MRI results weren't through yet!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

So I pushed her into town in the wheelchair, helped her sort out a new mobile in the 3 shop and then took her to the Slug & Lettuce for lunch (50% off food cos it's monday:beer:).

    Then £5.40 for taxi home...

Well at least the washing has almost dried outside - pity I'm too tired to iron it - I need a cuppa!

PS. Hospital will phone with results - must remember to leave the phone near DD1 when I go out tomorrow!
