was in lincoln Lloyds (the square sail) last night. ordered a double gin with soda and a pint of pedigree. was charged just under £4. next round, ordered the same, but this time £4.69 (started to take note of prices now!) queried it and the bar staff said it must have been a mistake before. next round, same order £5.39!!!
i queried it again and the reason they gave was - the first was a mistake - i was charged for gordens gin (which they have run out of) but was given a more expensive brand. the second time i was given the more expensive brand (however not told) and charged for it. the third time i was given an even more expensive brand. when i asked the barman why, he said it was because that is what he prefered!
when i asked for my money back or simlar i was told i couldnt because the first drink had been sold to me at a cheaper rate than it should have been!
is it wrong of me to want to pay the same each time, for the same drinks!

Complain to JDW via the website. They respond to all complaints and you may get some vouchers.

The first price sounds to have been a guesture of goodwill/ incompitence
The second price sounds like it was the right one but it should have been pointed out to you prior to making the drink to give you the option of changing the order
Third price is being silly but generally the same as the second. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

But it's not the same drinks, because you didn't specify the brand of gin you wanted. If you had gone to the bar and asked for a double Gordon's gin with soda and a pint of Pedigree, and they charged you differently each time fair enough, but you didn't. Or if you had asked for the cheapest double gin with soda and a pint of Pedigree, but you didn't.0 -

I always thought that if you didnt stipulate a certain brand you were served the house brand, normally cheapest. I really feel you,v been had, good luck!:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

thank you, i am pleased most of you agree with me. it is not the choice of the person behind the bar what gin i have. if there is a choice i should make it!
teedy - yes i thought it was the case that unless i specify, i should be offered the 'house' or cheapest gin.0 -
i have still not heard anything from wetherspoons - how long do you think i should leave it before contacting them again?0

I find it's generally best to complain via snail mail

Personally, I love Wetherspoons, the cocktail pitchers are amazing :beer:0 -
Hmmm.
Breach of Food Safety Act for not supplying food of nature, substance or quality demanded? Breach of Consumer Protection Act for misleading prices?
I'd have had a go at them, but my experience of weatherspoons staff recently seems to indicate that customer service is on the bottom of the list of priorities.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0
