  • urgh this is really bugging me, is it possible i am the only person in the whole entire www who has had an overpayment of in work credit ? ive googled every possible sentance i can think of to see if anyone else has a similar story and nothing !!
just need one person to say " that happened to me " and " i had to do this "

in regards to an early reply, if they had enetered an incorrect year ie 2010 i dont think they would have sent me the payment in full as i would have to supply them with proof that i had worked by sending in wage slips. and as this is a weekly generated thing of £40 which is sent out over 12 weeks, i then dont get the next 12 weeks untill they have seen wage slips. how could they have made such a huge error ?

would it make a difference that i had to show a contract stating it was a permanent position which was likely to last more than 5 weeks. im working in our family business and my contract is for 1yr ? i dunno its just driving me nuts.
why not write first and tell me im to expect some money on such n such date. then if its wrong i could notify them before it goes in my account. and avoid all this fuss in the first place.

    Because they are only human.

Sounds like a typo to me - everyone forgets which year it is in January and ends up writing the previous year.

Sit tight on that cash - I don't think it's the windfall you might hope for.

Good luck with the new job too.
    DF
  • Certainly don't spend it. You could stick it in an instant access account that pays a good rate of interest, though: at least you'll get a few quid for your hassle assuming the DWP asks for the money back eventually.
  • this exact same thing just happened to me ive been back in work for a number of weeks now doing 16 hours a week and i recently recieved a letter asking for wage slips as i am paid monthly i could not supply 2 wage slips so i had to get my boss to write a letter stating what im paid and how many hours i work then i went to the bank on monday and i had a payment from dwp for £1520 i also am having trouble contacting them and have no idea what i should do ? my reference on it was also a bunch of numbers with the letters "hsbc" and just like u this is the only other time i have seen someone with this problem i have looked everywhere cant seem to find anyone else if i find any answers to this ill be sure to post .
