If you were to ill to manage your state of affairs, why didn't you appoint a power of attorney to deal with them?

OP - Just ignore the sarcastic and uncalled for comments.

You did the right thing using the law to your advantage.

If more people took the power that they have and demonstrated that we are not going to be pushed around, the government would have to look to themselves more when drafting legislation.

    care to expand on that?

    Helpful to whom?

    1. those in a position of non copus mentus!

2.those in that position, being chased for tax credits of ££££'s, perhaps theres people out there taking care of thier finances while they stay at hospitals etc for long periods getting treatment to mental, physical problems and have no access to their letters and no control over their finances because their mental copacity unables them to do so.

so yes i'd say helpfull unlike the posts you put here.

You know, I'm all for protecting people who have overpayments through no fault of their own, but this kind of scenario makes it more difficult for those people.

I fail to see how this has been written off when it is a joint claim.

And that is a massive amount too!

If you were single, I'd understand it more, but your OH should have been held responsible for that money.
