Have to agree with the other posters there are so many great things there that we can't or wouldn't buy anywhere else.
Their cashew nuts aren't only cheaper they are delicious! (co-op's are lovely but v. expensive, tescos were nasty)!
The choc raisins are the best ever!
We love their (iced) butter marble cake and the brioche with custard in it.
I used to love their marinated (frozen) turkey & frozen paella, but they haven't had it in stock the last few times I've been there.
Their big tins of chicken soup (it used to be called chicken noodle though it's made with pasta shells).
Fruit juices have always been lovely,
bio yoghurts, and cheese always good value and very tasty.
The best cured ham (both the Spanish & Italian).
Tiramisu ice cream.
And their oven chips and wedges are awesome and amazingly cheap!
Never tried the lasagna, but with the recommendations here I definitely will!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
i sed to be a regular shopper at lidl as i lived round the corner from one, i used to buy;
lasagne ready meal (family size ready meal for the rare occasion i was feeling lazy)
nougat pillows cerial MMMMMMMM
cherry jam
vanilla coffee
bratwursts
stracciatella yoghurt
vanilla dessert
ravioli in tin
i never really buy fruit or veg from that lidl because i did a few times and always noticed small flies in my kitchen after, and when i went to the supermarket it became clear that they have a problem with fruit flies.0 -
In the days when I did dairy, I used to buy loads of mozarella, yoghurt, quark and chocolate (esp the white chocolate). Their Christmas shop was always great for goodies - stollen, pannetone, mince pies etc...
Now I can recommend the conference pears and celery if that's any good to anyone? The balsamic dressing is well worth it, couscous is also a good price compared to supermarkets.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

I buy their bread flour, smoked cheese, camembert, ice creams, juices, Toppers lemonade on a regular basis in preference to the leading or other supermarket own brands.
I have an Aldi nearer to my home, but Lidl has a much better choice of items.Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -
The only thing i dont like from lidl (apart from their potatoes), is the fruit jam. It was about 29p and completely tasteless and i had to throw it away. Next time ill pay more and try the cherry jam as recommended on here0

It's the Maribel 50% fruit content jams that are the best, yes the cherry is lovely.0
