will tmobile haggle with new customers instore?

hi all,

i've already got my pac code from vodafone and hopefully tomorrow going to town to get a desire hd, more than likely on tmobile. phones4u are cheaper but i've vowed not to go back there!! but as all networks seam to be clamping down on data, i think it might be a good idea to get the contract through tmobile themselves to get the 3gb whilst it lasts. but will they negotiate? or chuck in car chargers / blue tooth headsets or are they not interested?

looking at

tmobile direct
600 mins
500 txt
3gb data
flexible booster
£90 for the phone
£30.64 - 24 months = £735.36 + £90 = £825.36

300 mins
300 txt
3gb data
flexible booster
£130 for the phone
£25.54 - 24 months = £612.96 + £130 = £742.96

phones4u - on tmobile
600 mins
500 txt
flexible booster to be used as 1gb data
free phone
£25.53 - 24 months = £612.72

going direct i'd use the booster as tmobile to tmobile so 300 mins would prob be enough, 300 txts will be enough

cheers steve

Well Ive managed it before so I guess it depends on your attitude an how generous they are when you go in.

I find T-Mobile telesales are quite often happy to match other tariffs or offers. Plus you are covered by the 7 day DSR if you dont like the phone or the signal is not good.

I thought DSR meant Distance Selling Regulations, ie. delivered to your door. Surely buying in-store negates the DSR rule?

But the thread is about haggling in-store.

I would be VERY suprised if they did not haggle instore!!! esp if your only after handsfree/chargers etc. How about you let them talk you into taking out insurance to gain some freebies, then once out of the store cancel the insurance (its usually possible). Also go as a casual browser so they will think they have talked you into a sale.

I tried to haggle instore on the 600 mins contract you want and got nowhere they wanted £40 a month. Phoned sales and got the same for £30 a month and paid £10 for phone so i would try and phone them
  • cheers for all the replies,

luckily the local store was out of stock, so just got back and read talkalot and bek1980 posts, i'd not spotted the phone number on the web site! phoned them up and got

    desire hd £85 + £5 delivery
    600 mins
    500 txts
    3gb data
tmobile to tmobile as my booster
    £25.54 24 months = £612.96 + £90 = £702.96

    cheers all
