TalkTalk Nightmare

Just want to let some steam off here as i am really angry in mid december we ordered our phone line and broadband to switch from virgin media to talktalk.
we got given a activation date of the 31st of december for our phone line and the 6th of january for our broadband, the phone line went on fine but come the 6th no broadband and no router so we phoned talktalk and got through to india and were told it was delayed and would be on tomorrow the 7th and the router had been sent out. so again we waited and nothing called them back and was told the 10th and the router would be sent out on the 9th (even though it was already sent out apparently).
So on the 10th still no broadband so i emailed mr dunstone and got a call from the ceo office telling me we had no go live date still ( so india had been lying to us then) and we then recieved a phone call from the ceo office yesterday saying we would have a go live date today the 21st so think at last we will have a go live date at last we just called talktalk and were told that our order has been cancelled .
what sort of company is this lying to there customers, this is costing me a fortune in mobile broadband as my wife is heaverly pregnant and is working from home and needs the internet for her work and we dont have the money to buy a dongle til next week when we get paid.
what can i do can i claim money back for the money i am racking up in calls and mobile internet as i have been given a original go live date?

Any advice is welcomed and sorry for the rant

  • You don't need this stress with a baby on the way so if I were you I wouldn't waste any more time and money on this company. Tell them in writing and via email that they are in breach of their contract with you and ditch them as soon as you can. I have had loads of trouble with TalkTalk and intend to do the "WalkWalk" I am still waiting for them to send me a MAC number so I can leave. My main priority will be to find a provider with UK based customer support...... this offshoring nonsense has to stop and the only way it will is if customers in this country vote with their feet.

Anyway, I wish you luck with everything.

They're obliged to send you a MAC code within 5 days. After a rather vitriolic email from me on Wednesday afternoon telling them what I thought of them & demanding a MAC code by return I had a reply the following morning. So straight on the phone to BT to switch and no doubt I now have to fight an ongoing battle with TT when I cancel my DD & refuse to make any further payment; I'm in the middle of an 18-month contract, they've arbitrarily increased it from £15 to £20 a month & tell me there's nothing they can do unless I upgrade to have all my calls with them as well. NO THANK YOU!! But I ustn't feel targetted as this has happened to all ex-Tiscali customers.
  • Having sent 5 letters to talk talk about getting a MAC code which they ignored, I spent 25 minutes on their telephone system, As I had sent so many letters without an answer they offered me a months free internet which I declined. I said I would never use Talk Talk again if it was free and was assured I would be sent one in the next post.. Imagine my surprise when a letter popped up a few days later saying I had agreed to the months free internet and would continue with them which was patently untrue.I am still trying to get my MAC code. To be on the safe side record all calls to Talk Talk and get the persons name you talk to, it may be made up but you have got one. I didn,t and am still waiting for my MAC
