Best company for a new mobile contract?

I am currently looking in to getting a new contract for my mobile as my old contract is running out within the next couple of months. I have always gone directly with the network themselves - I've been on O2 for a few years, and before was with Vodafone, and I have a deep mistrust of brokers such as Phones4U. While I will never go with Phones4U (my ex had a very bad experience with them, and a friend who used to work there had all sorts of horrible stories), I was wondering whether anyone had tried online sites such as mobiles.co.uk, dial-a-phone.co.uk etc.? If so, does anyone have any reviews? I've always been taught that things that look to good to be true often are, but their deals do look very tempting...
Thanks for all your feedback!

If you actually look all those up on this site you'll have enough bedtime reading for the next two years. One of them (Dialaphone) has also BEEN phones4u for at least a year.0

Thanks for your comment
I've had a look and I just felt a bit daunted by all of the threads and comments! I've found especially in the threads I've seen that a lot of them are complaints about terrible customer service, but I've not yet found one that recommends or 'grades' (if that's the correct word to use) a lot of third party companies. If you could suggest any I'd be very grateful! 0 -
Having just said that I've actually found a Cashback Guide which looks like a good start for me...thanks for your help0

Yes. I wrote it! It also includes (amongst a lot of other related things) a (fairly) recent assessment (in my experience/opinion) of the main players - for CASHBACK contracts, which is what I am mainly concerned with!0
