Is Virgin my only option

I'm currently using a t-mobile dongle on its 30 days free but once thats up don't really wanna be paying £15 a month as I get cut off a lot and find its very slow.
I've bought the flat I'm living in and know the previous owner used to have Virgin and Sky and but can't remember which was phone and which was telly.
I don't have a home phone installed simply because I don't use up my monthly minutes on my mobile contract so presume there's no real benefit to me getting a broadband provider where I need to pay monthly for phone line rental. Does this mean Virgin is my only option? I've been told the best they can do me is £15.25 for the first 3 months then £20.25 and the lady I spoke to on the phone said she'd do me free installation whereas the website says £40 charge.
What do you guys think? Is this the best I'm likely to get? Many thanks

The phone point will say on it either BT.NTL/Telewest/VM ect,if the is a box on the wall like the one in the pic,you have VM Cable & therefore can have cable TV & BBand.
VM have an offer on at the moment,free instal & six month's half price;

Thanks for taking the time to reply - yes my box is like that and they have confirmed I'm all ok to get set up just wanted to see if virgin is my only option for internet only without paying for telephone line rental which i'm not gonna use. I'm not interested in any tv packages. thanks again0

Then your best bet would be VM if you don't want the phoneline.
£6.25 for six months then £10 a month,

Sorry am I missing something here spike - thats not what this link says at all? If I don't want a phone line in that link you posted says the same as what I quoted in my OP
Apologies if I've gone mad here but can't see how0 -

Sorry..I quoted the wrong one...!
SHOULD BE THIS ONE;Or without a Virgin phone line
£15.25 a month
for 3 months
then £20.25 a month
However you'd be paying that for phone & bband depending what's in your exchange.
I'd ask VM to install it for free as the service is already in the flat so all it requires is reconnection, not a full installation as per the small print in the ad.0 -
Yeah they said they would fit it for free0

Yes, I was in the same position. Didnt want a line rental, so Virgin Media was the only option. I'd probably get a faster speed (have 10mb virgin and get the full speed) on ADSL as I'm about 2 minutes from the exchange, but it would cost considerably more to have a line rental AND adsl service. Couldnt find a win win situation with ADSL.
No phone line = Go with virgin.0 -

Don't forget to look at signing up via Quidco, £65 cash back at the moment - you may have to pay the installation though.0
