I beleive that GPs can prescribe patches. I know it is not free, but probably a lot cheaper than over the counter?

If you speak to the council BEFORE you go into arrears then they are pretty accomodating - they are hearing this all the time at the moment and will try to help wherever possible, you may need to put together a financial statement of your outgoings so that they can see what you have available to you.

As a rough guide though they will look at allowing your gas, electricity, water, reasonable phone costs, rent, any child maintenance, reasonable travel and £25 a head for food per adult, but they will not look at any debts that you have so if you have credit cards or debts then they are not taken into account.

Chin up - you will get there!

Hi katygeorge, for really cheap eating, search for weezl in the forums. Her and her other half fed themselves for 50p a day in one thread. She also has a website full of super cheap ideas. Good luck and I hope you get sorted soon.

Do you actually have to pay council tax this month? I know that our annual payments are made in ten monthly instalments with February and March being payment free months.
