Would the kids eat cold pizza for lunch? My kids love the easy peasy pizza recipe on Cbeebies I Can Cook page, it's not a dough that requires yeast etc, bit of tomato puree, some gammon and cheese.
Or how about HM pitta breads? This was posted on a different thread by Memory Girl (I think apologies if it was someone else) 3 cups of bread flour, 1 tbsp oil, 1 cup water, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp yeast. Mix to form dough (I use my BM for this so no idea of the method for by hand), leave to rise and knock back. Divide into 8 balls and leave to rest. Pre heat oven to 230 degrees ad grease baking sheets. Flatten each ball into oval shape, leave for 10 mins before cooking for 5-6 mins.

  • If you've got any kind of flour in the house you can make soda bread. It might not cut into nice, neat slices for an executive-type sandwich but it's bread nonetheless.

I'd use that three quid-odd to buy milk

I would second the soda bread thing. Its yummy espcially with soup so leaving the sho bought bread for sandwiches if required.
flat breads/totillas are unbelievably easy to make and can do sandwiches wraps fahitas etc.
Also have a really good sort espcially in the bottom/back of the freezer-good chance to use u any items that have been sat there unused for a long while (we all have them lol).

    Good luck
