  • You can only put a photo of a superboob on, not an actual boob?

I have the 'wood' just thinking about it :p
  • excuse me guys...we seem to be straying off the subject a little here, just mention the word boobs and your all drooling and panting all over the place!!!! :p

I think it's too late now to do an online petition as i'm taking it in on Tuesday, but I do wish i'd have thought of that before. Also something happened this week thats never happened before to my knowledge, one of the residents found a needle on one of the paths and our caretaker was able to remove it straightaway, if he wasn't around we have to phone the council and wait for them to remove it however long that may take, the whole things a joke :rotfl:
  • If you're submitting a petition tomorrow remember your local rag would love to get in on this... they'll definitely send a reporter and probably a photographer too. Call them today if you can.

OK...presented my petition and they never even looked at it!!! They weren't interested in the slightest, as far as they are concerned the caretaker is redundant and a cleaning company starts at the end of this week. So for the same money the caretaker was paid to work 5 days a week and on site 24/7, we now get 2 hours per week cleaning...what value for money! I argued my case for over an hour but was told that they (the housing association) had schemes all over the country but only a handful have a caretaker, so it's not fair to the rest that we have one and they don't, instead of getting rid of ours I argued, give all the other schemes their own caretaker, you can guess the answer to that one! The statement from the Police said that crime has dropped considerably since we had a caretaker and it would be a mistake to get rid of his job. So...waste of my time, their arrogance has lost any respect I, and others ever had for them.
My next job...having a collection for him...just hope people are as generous with their money as they were with their support!

Maybe name and shame the Housing Association.I would have thought that as the residents are paying for his services, its the residents that should decide who you employ to do the work.Hope something positive happens before the new cleaning company starts work.

Probably too late now, but you have taken the wrong action on this. The reason that the petition was ignored is because they have no legal standing.

You have two issues here, and you are mixing them up. The first issue is your rights as tenants. The second is the rights of the caretaker as an employee.

In terms of your rights, it really comes down to whether the cleaning company will continue to provide the services which you pay for. If you pay for cleaning, it sounds like they will. If you pay for a mediator/ residents manager, perhaps they will not.

The caretaker needs to contact ACAS to establish his rights.
    Gone ... or have I?

This is wrong. The tenants pay the HA to provide a certain service, and (with a few exceptions) not to dictate how that service is provided.
