Explain data roaming?

Hello, anyone please explain for me what is "mobile data" and what is "data roaming" in settings of iphone4?

Mobile data is data via the mobile network (3G or GRPS) It's different from data obtained by WiFi or a Bluetoorh connection.

Data roaming means using data when roaming off your own network. Typically it means when you are not in the UK and Data will be expensive.

The only exception to this is Orange / Tmobile in the UK, that you may be on the others network but they are now one company so it doesn't count.

The other thing to beware of is in some places near a boarder, (English channel / France & Northern Ireland / Ireland) where due to the way radio signals travel you can log on to a non UK network if the non UK network is a stronger signal than the UK network.

Mobile data is also classed as your phones internet connection that you may or may not pay for .

Data Roaming use of a different network to your own that may be charged at a relatively high price .

Huge mobile bills often due to customer ignorant of the fact that either of the above may incur excessive charges . Most often when using phone outside the UK .
