Emergancy calls only!! Need a new phone

Argh!!! I am getting sick of this now. I dare say 20 hours out of 24 I have 'emergancy calls only' I'm on o2 and have a sony ericcson, my OH has the same phone also on o2, his goes to emergancy calls only occassionally, but only like once a week for a few minutes. Mine is almost constant! I have taken it back to carphone warehouse twice and it has been sent off to be 'fixed' although nothing changes! It is not my sim card as if I put it into another phone (as I did when my phone was being fixed, for 3 weeks! I didnt get emergancy calls only at all then). Anyway, its all abit irrellevent really as I'm guessing there is not much I can do about it?

But can anybody reccommend me a phone with the 'conversation inbox' feature and a decent camera, relatively cheap

What's relatively cheap for you? Do you use your phone for much more than calling, testing and taking photos? If you could stretch to £100 the Orange San Francisco is a great phone, the camera's reasonably good (it gets poor reviews, but I've seen some great photos taken with it) and you can unlock it free of charge. It's an android based phone so it has the conversation style text messages feature and there's a lot of apps available to do pretty much anything, but if you're not interested in apps or accessing the internet on the go it's probably overkill.

The reason WHY you get emergency calls only is because the phone has roamed to a competitors network - usually due to there being insufficient signal strength. I would doubt there is any phone problem.

If you get the same results on the same network with different handsets, it's tme to research a better network!

I already stated that when using my sim in another phone it works just fine! Also my OH is on the same network and he doesnt have the same problem!
