  • The picture kept freezing and sound jumping when I was on skype the other day.
  • The ram arrived this morning and i've put it in. Seems to be working fine. Can't tell if it's made any difference, but I suppose I'll be able to have more programs open at once.
  • SKYPE
    Check settings:
    your computer is running slowly

I've put it in high performance and close down msn etc, but it still isn't improving my score on skype performance. I don't understand why as everything else is running quickly. Can't see any noticeable difference from my laptop.

Ignore what Skype is saying about your computer running slowly, I get the same message on my NC10 1Gb and it runs Skype fine.

Have you tried Skyping someone and are you getting the same results as before?
  • Not had the opportunity to try it again. I'll give it a go next time I spot my parents on line.

What to can do just now is to use the Echo/Sound Test Service in Skype.

Sign in to Skype, check to see if there are any updates first.

In the left hand window in Skype you should see Echo/Sound Test Service, run the test by pressing call and follow the instructions given.

Once the test has finished click on the Check Settings tab in the test window and then click on the Connection tab which will tell you if your connection speed is fast enough for audio & video calls.

Any problems come back and we will see if they can be sorted.
  • I think there is a problem. I've just been typing on MSN and earlier on Facebook today and both times, my typing was way ahead of what was actually on the netbook screen.... it's happening now as i'm typing this! Any ideas?
