    Looks familiar.

They've phoned me a lot recently, although it seems to have stopped when I told them I'd be making my decision nearer the contracted end date. In reality my decision to leave has already been made, they really aren't competitive in the market.
  • If you google the number its not Vodafone Retentions ! Its a number calling Vodafone numbers after business

Its more likely a 'courtesy call' from the Outbound Sales Team.

Most probably trying to sell you a new contract.

    Hi Ann S,

This number is one of our Outbound teams. They work on a dialler that automatically calls the numbers from the database.

They will be making a courtesy call if you have recently requested cancellation of your contract.

If you would like us to stop the calls, you can email us here with WRT135 in the subject and we can have you taken out of the dialler.

    Best wishes,

Actually, Heidi, the customer doesn't need to email you at all. Since 24th September 2010, your company has been breaking the law with this automatic dialling and then no one answering. Take a look here. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/DG_191045

You are well on the way to being fined if sufficient people complain. See also here http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/telecoms/privacy/silent-call/

So, MSE members, if you are being plagued by silent calls that leave no message, you know what to do.
  • To anyone thinking about swapping to vodafone just read my experience before please.

I was an existing contract customer, purchased a second contract through quidco expecting £120 of cashback and it never came, vodafone refused to look into it.

When i started the contract it included unlimited internet and an agreement that if i went over 500mb it would be slowed down, later vodafone changed the terms and conditions so that it cost £5 per 500mb, as i have a smart phone and use lastfm 4Gb of usage was a regular occurence resulting in a £35 a month increase.

Last month i recieved a text message saying i had placed an order and it would be delivered shortly including the address it was to be delivered to... a bank. I called up to be told id ordered an iphone 4 and a 24month extension to my contract at £70 a month, i told them i had never placed this order and they said it must have been fraudulent and would see to it right away, the order was placed over the phone apparently and to be delivered to a bank 100miles away from where i live. Whether this was fraud or just their stupid sales people putting it through on the wrong account i am not sure.

Yesterday i went to pay for some sandwiches at m&s and found my card was declined... strange because i had money in my account still... or i should have. Went to natwest to find vodafone had taken £140 out of my account... forcing me into an unauthorised overdraft and hence incurring a nice pile of bank charges on top. I checked online and it seems vodafone never removed the fraudulent contract, phoned vodafone up and was told that i upgraded my contract on the 18th of january along with ordering an iphone 4and that my bill was correct, told the lovely indian woman that i had reported the transaction as fraudulent and she read my bill back to me a few times again seeming confused. Then she said she looked at the notes on my account and confirmed it had been noted but nothing done about it, transfered me to another department telling me they would sort the issue... the woman i was transferred to literally had no idea who i was or what i was calling about.

Now today i recieve 6/7 calls from this number which don't even last long enough to answer the call.

This is how they treat a customer spending in excess of £1000 a year with them.. safe to say my contracts are now cancelled.
