You could take a phone from here, but it would need to be a tri- or quadband one, as they use different frequencies - T-mobile on 1900, Cingular on 850 and 1900.
If you get one there with the thought that you could bring it home, make sure to get a GSM phone on T-mobile or Cingular or the virtual networks on them (not Virgin or Verizon which are on different systems), and if you get a tri-band you'd only have the 1800 band here when you get back.0 -
