HELP!!Laptop not charging!!!

I am on my HPG60 laptop and have just plugged it in, it is all switched on, but it says its not charging!!! There does not seem to be damage to the lead, so what could be wrong? Is there a way I can get it checked out before buying a new lead? The plug sockets are ok as I tried my hairdryer in it....its been showing 37%…

Well, if it should be outputting 20V and it's only doing 11V, that's your problem. Look at the label on the adaptor and the DC output will be shown. What is it?
You don't need an HP one, any independent shop (not PCW please!) should sell you a universal one-take the old one in with you and make sure they match it.
