Any Advice On Moving From Aol Dial Up To Broadband Please

  • choosing a provider depends on your needs, e.g. how much download, time on internet, what speed you want, how much you are willing to pay etc. The way the market is currently is that higher speed is cheaper than more bandwidth.

  • First post here.

I have just signed up with Metronet after having unlimited dail up with aol. Metronet's package and service seem very good! (very fast after dail-up!)

Following on from this thread- can't one just transfer over to the AOL pay as you use and keep the aol addresses and pick up emails remotely?
I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.
I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.
Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far!

If you read the rest of the thread you would have seen my explanation. If you pick up even one email they will debit your debit/credit card with 1 months subscription.
  • Sorry I haven't replied I'm on my own with a 3 month old baby so I can't do things very fast at the moment.

Thank you all for your advice - its very much appreciated. I think that I will just upgrade my AOL account as suggested.
