What are they doing with the contents of the chemical toilets?

That might be one way of pursuing it further.

Possibly they pour it down the drain.

Maybe it's the Police on a stakeout, watching the drugs den next door :p

Possibly they pour it down the drain.

I suspect you are not allowed to do that as I think it has to be disposed of properly as it is "chemical waste"

Sounds like they are a mixture of motorhomers wildcamping and also unemployed people sleeping in their cars. I even know of one or two fully employed Eastern Europeans who choose to live in their cars. Most beauty spots and coasts have this problem.

If you feel it is causing a nuisance then call your local Council. There may be bye-laws stating no camping in certain areas. Sadly some motorhomers don't realise or don't want to realise the nuisance/inconvenience that they inflict on others.

Buy yourself a rickety smelly dirty old caravan and park it right in the middle and stay in it for a week or so. be vile, loud, rude, obnoxious and generally disgusting, and maybe they'll all move on?

I'm wondering if anyone can help me...

There is a road near us which has unrestricted parking. It is a very attractive site as it borders a park.

However, there are a number of (unconnected) people who have chosen to use it as a spot to live... mostly it is people living in large vans, but one guy is just sleeping in his car. Most of them drive around once a week and move up and down the road, but basically have just stayed there for at least three months now.

I would like to get them moved on. It's unattractive, but more importantly they block spaces which all the local people use to access the park. Plus you can hear the noise of their generators at night and the occasional whiff of chemical toilet as you walk past, although to be fair they don't litter or cause noise otherwise.

But what can I do? The vehicles are not abandoned so that dept won't help. But they don't seem to be gypsies/travellers, and it's not on a private site so I don't know if the police would be much help either.

So I guess what I am asking is a) is it legal and b) if not how should I address moving them on?
They are either gyp0s or immigrants.
EIther way, call the police and let them soil somewhere else.

Ask you council to impose some form of enforcible parking restriction. No parking over 4 hours, no return within 4 hours should do it without inconveniencing locals too much.

Chances are they'll just make it pay and display though, then your neighbours will hate you.

Have you spoken about it to any of your neighbours, how do they feel about it.
You may find these people are using somewhere like a local pub to wash and use the toilets and collect water to use. If enough people who lived in the area were to complain to the licensee or whoever owns the toilets he may stop them from coming in'

Are they travellers? Or homeless people?
