  • I always buy Flora. Never managed to find anything else that spreads so well right from the fridge and tastes good, too.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

I do like brands and stick to them but will always stock up when on offer and never run low enough to have to pay full price.

    I always buy when on offer;

    Persil liquid
    M & S fabric softner
    M&S Boxed tissues
    Colgate sensitive toothpaste
    finish dishwasher tabs
    Plenty Thirst pockets kitchen towels
    Heinz ketchup
    oxo gravy granuals
Tetley or pg tips T bags
    cathedral city cheddar cheese
    M&S pasta & Sauces

I never buy any supermarket own brands

I've tried to shop in Lidl and aldi and come away nothing.

Fresh foods I am brand loyal even when not on offer

Only buy certain things from M&S like avacados, tomatoes, feta cheese, deli meats, tried other stores and find them tasteless

Only buy loose veg and salad bags from morrisons

Will try new brands of anything when heavily discounted but usually go back to tried and tested favourites.

I will buy any brand on offer of
    cleaning products
    Loo Rolls
    deodorant
    Face wipes
    Crisps & biscuits
    Wine
    Coffee (i dont drink it)
    Canned soup

Also buy branded for things like lexmark ink for printer, meile bags for vacuum cleaner even tho expensive.
Phillips light bulbs (after a batch of tescos own kept fusing the lights)

Im defo into brands but like to get a bargain too.

Hair and face products have to be high brands; salon hair stuff etc
Hate paying for them and have tried supermarket for these but dont like

I don't class myself as loyal at all, I get bored of things very easily- even having the same type of washing powder on my shelf bores me! I swap around alot, infact I don't like to buy the same thing twice unless I feel I have to.

Having said that, I do think there is a difference in washing powder/liquid/gels etc. I have tried quite a few and only a small handful of them I like the scent of and the scent remains as I wear my clothes and makes my room smell nice when its drying. I cannot stand Comfort scented conditioners so end up with Lenor, just different types of Lenor!

Agree with the pepsi-max thing, its the only diet cola I can tolerate! Been that way for years, nothing to do with the brand, it could be bought up by coke-a-cola for all I care, I just prefer the taste.

Clothing? I don't like to own or wear all of one brand it makes me feel pigeon holed.

Don't get me wrong I do have brands and things I will only buy without too much question but its not because I haven't already tried the alternatives and decided I did not like them.

Brands I always buy, when they are on offer:
. Branston Baked Beans. I don't need to buy anymore as got 11 tins at home!
    . Dowle Egberts coffee
. Oatibix - thank you Morrisons for having it half price last week
. Beer - either K1664, Becks, Stella, Carlsberg Export, Grolsch. Depending what's on offer. I buy the bottles as on ww and not tempted to drink a whole 440-500ml can
    . Options hot chocolate

Regardless to anything else, its depends what's on offer.

I am the same, always buy branston beans offer and have similar amount to you, but if they stopped putting them on offer I think I would try some of the cheaper brands but usually the branston work out as cheap on offer as the cheaper brands.
Coffee - prefer Kenco, but as its always on offer or there are coupons no problem there, if they stopped the offers I could last a couple of years as only me drinks it.
Kelloggs Bran flakes - I have tried the rest in the past, but none of them compare or are the same when you read the ingredients, was just down to my last box when they recently came on offer so will stock up for a few months.
Options - I have tried all the other brands and none of them come close to Options for taste, I just buy on offer, which they are at the moment, if I ever ran out I would probably grudgingly buy a jar but I always have a good stock so hopefully that wont happen.
GoAhead Raspberry Fruit bakes, again through trial and error have found these are the best so wont buy the cheaper ones now, but they are often on offer.
Washing Liquid, I have several I would buy and many I would never buy, just wait until one of my preferred on offer.

Most of the other stuff I buy whatever is on offer when I need it.

I do it all because I'm scared.
  • I forgot about Marmite!, wouldnt use any alternative to that - and do agree Fairy really works out cheaper than own brands, ive tried them all and always go back to ii - the big bottles are £1 in tesco so have stocked up. Agree on Nutella as well - thats £1 in tesco this week as well.

Everyone in our family loves slice Hovis, brown or white, I dont mind paying for it as it never gets wasted, and its on offer 2 for £2 in Sainsburys and 3 for £2 in Asda ..though Asda much further away and being aware of my petrol useage!

Everyone seems to like fairy washing up liquid, but I found the co-op own brand, either the green one or the lemon one just as good and much cheaper. I buy a few whenever it's on 2 for £1.

I won't buy something just because it's cheap. It has to be functional, fit for the purpose desired and economically sound before I buy it.

You could call be an econnoisseur.

Heinz beans, Green Giant sweetcorn, Irn Bru and Marmite

Marmite is probably one of the things I notice a change between brands with. Have you tried the Tesco alternative though, it's difficult to tell the difference but it is a little easier to spread...

    Definitely prefer:
    Fairy liquid, bought on offer.
    Birdseye frozen peas
    Green Giant frozen corn

    Anything else, I'm easy.

My absolute favourite washing powder is fairy, but I'll buy whatever's on offer (got a few boxes of the surf from Morrisons at £4.70. It gave my car a lovely smell too! :D).
