A note from Martin.
"Hi
New Book Nearly Launched
As you know the Old Style Book 'Thrifty Ways for Modern Days' is soon to be launched, its a compendium of the info from this forum and we hope it'll be a huge hit, especially as the proceeds (well all my proceeds anyway) go to the MSE Charity fund.
We need serious Old-Stylers to help
We're looking for a select number of people to appear alongside me possibly on TV or radio programmes and/or talk to the press about Old-Style and how you live the Old-Style way. We're really looking for those people with major Old-Style knowledge.
Martin freely admits 'I'm not a big Old-Styler' and would love to appear with true Old-Stylers who could answer "how do i cheaply get the stains out of my loo" or "how to do a dinner for 17 for thrupence".
If that's you - we'd love your help. It may mean travelling to a studio or doing it on the phone, but your expenses will be met.
We also need new converts
If you're new to Old-Style but have started adopting Old Style ways then we would also love your help too.
What to do if you're interested
Please PM Andrea and with whether you'd a. be willing to talk on the phone to journalists b. be willing to be on the radio c. be willing to be on the TV. Please also include where in the country you live and your Old Style experience.
All hands on deck - please help
Martin

Well you have to ask Queenie, thats for sure. Queenie is the epitome of OS and her every day life encompasses OS in everything she does.
When she met up with us micro-waves woosies she had home baked a loaf of bread for everyone, each one different with a lot of thought gone into which loaf each person would like, mine was chocolate :j
Queenie draws on her life experiences along with her Mum's tips to craft, clean, cook, bake and best of all encourages in a very remarkable way.
Me, I'm just old with no style but I do have a slow cooker and I have always used vinegar0 -
If you can find her, Moggins is "the real thing" as well!

(as a 21yr old, i guess i count as a new convert to OS - its making uni much more affordable)

I reckon we should get AussieLass over to show how far the influence of MSE has spread!!! And building your own house with or without a recipe has to be the ultimate money saving /OS exercise!!!:rotfl: :TYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Queenie is another fab OS lady.
Aussielass is great too-Shes always cooking up a bat or a kangaroo:p
Personally would love to see Southern Scouser up there as it would be a scream:D....but I dont think he has a clue about OS:p

Very funny Churchmouse & Penny Pincher.
It pays to check all the threads doesn't it.
I think it's extremely inspiring for the *young* ones that are on the board to be so OS. I mean the likes of Bgn Rzl, Pav Dog, Purple Princess, Scuzz to name a few. They are so together for someone in the 20 - 30 year range. I think any of them would be ideal.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

I totally agree that Queenie should be asked, not only is she everything that OS and MSE stand for in my mind, but when you meet her, she is brimming with enthusiasm, a perfect candidate for anyone to speak passionately about something she cares she strongly about, and devotes so much of her life to.
Her enthusiasm is contagious. I have honestly never met anyone quite like her before. She really is as energetic as her posting style suggests.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!
