You have clearly received a high level of education paid for by the evil baby boomers and been given chances that would have been inconceivable to many with your ability 50 years ago. They would have been lucky to have got a good apprenticeship and may subsequently have found themselves virtually unemployable as their hard earned skills became increasingly irrelevent.

AT what point have boomers paid for any of my education? the apprenticeship wasn't easy to get, there was over 150 applicants and 2 places.

Does a couple need 3 bedrooms??

Sometimes couples make small versions of themselves to keep the population going. 2 of us so 2 children should figure out nicely, so 3 bedrooms would be perfect.

    In short its planning ahead.
Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
Quit day job to run 3 businesses 08/02/2017
    Started third business 25/06/2016
    Son born 13/09/2015
    Started a second business 03/08/2013
Officially the owner of my own business since 13/01/2012

True. And it's always been that way.

When the boomers were young, they were the irresponsible hippies in the 60's, etc...

    False.

Todays young will end up just as wealthy as the boomers, on average.

All wealth is ultimately redistributed to the younger generations, always has been and always will be. Perhaps you've heard of this little thing we call "death"...

You are missing the point, like you nearly always do, and you are probably just another one of the these guys whose life revolves around money "look at my wod".

I am not talking about who ends up with the biggest cash pot, or when or why they end up with it. The point i am trying to make is that family homes should be used for just that, raising familys. There is no point get a good quality family home in you 60's when it is needed in your late 20's" early 30's to start raising a family in a safe secure affordable home.

Look Hamish, by all means go and make your fortune in the stock market or on Forex trading currency, or maybe even do something decent like start a business and contribute to the economy, but just think keep away from houses that are vital in nurturing the next working generation.

I really have no problem with making money by the way, and i am probably closer to the baby boomers than i am the young adults

    This is the thing.

So many young people expect to move straight into a big, flash, new-build. They won't learn the job, they think they should be at the top from the very beginning. They won't wait, they want it all now.

And so fall into the hands of the banks ...

I would define it as having to study harder and push careers further to end up in a higher paid job to get the same chance as the boomers before could get on a low paid job with no qualifications.

    Fair enough?

Is it the baby boomers fault that everyone has to have a degree now to clean toilets.
We all left school at 15,very few later and started at the bottom on rubbish pay.
Everyone and his wife studies for qualifications nowadays, that's why its so hard to stand out,so getting a degree basically means nothing more than the education we had,bog standard when it comes to it.
It's just you get to study longer before you start to work.

Your parents are baby boomers. If you feel stuffed, phone them up and moan at them about it.

Your parents stuffed you. It's their fault.
  • Another baby boomer bashing thread. Pathetic. Some of you youngsters don't know you're born. Get out of your rented and start to be men.

Rented, they probably still live with mummy and daddy.

Not fair, his parents worked as security & checkout therefore long underpaid hours, incidentally two professions I rate much higher than bean counters.

So it's not the baby boomers' fault then is it. It's the fault of particular people.

And anyway it's a ridiculous division because "baby boomers" are not a heterogenous group and contain disproportionately poor people - pensioners for example.

Yes because all pensioners are poor of course.

Fail to see the problem with comparing the population distribution of one generation with the population distribution of another to be honest. If I had 10 chocolate bars and an orange and you got 1 chocolate bar and a pear would you say it's impossible to compare and contrast the two? hmmm.

Not many babyboomers are pensioners and almost all of those are women.
