moving house, virgin media broadband

i got vm broadband a few months ago but im planning on moving home into my mums house. she also has vm broadband, but should be out of contract by now, shes had it for quite a while. i have a considerable period of time still in contract so cancelling isnt an option.

does anyone know if its possible to let someone else (in this case my mum) take over my account and cancel her broadband? obviously all the equipment is already there and set up so it should only be a case of activating it through the already existing cabling. both are cabled broadband in the same post code area bt12. she also has a vm phone package and tv package; i dont, all we want to do is transfer the broadband over.

i know it can be done on bt, not sure about virgin, any ideas? cheers

Discuss it with VM using your mothers phone next ime you're there to save the cost of the call (you can use 150 on a VM phone and that is free).

My bet is that it won't be possible.

Any change of tarrif or package with VM starts you on a new 12m contract, so I wouldn't assume that she is out of contract just because she been with them 'quite a while'.

    BT12...Sandy Row area of Belfast?...
If she's in contract then I'd look at taking out a second account at the address & moving over.Say you are moving in as a lodger.
  • She hasnt changed her package in years from what she said. basic tv package, phone (no clue what pk) and 10mb broadband. Customer for about 7 years, moved house over a year ago, ill have to look into that though.

spike, not sandy row but not far from it. lower falls, close to sandy row though
