Read any small print and see what the excess is. You could be paying for something you can never use.

£3.99? I checked their website last week and got quoted £6.99 for the same phone, which was no cheaper than 3's own insurance which I had just cancelled. I only checked out of curiousity as my phone is covered on my contents insurance.

Think you can buy a Desire sim free for just over £300 now. Drop in price means it can be insured for a lower premium.

Also, watch out in case you're over-insuring. The insurer might not pay out the full claim if you've insured something worth £300 under a £400 policy.

The OP has a Desire HD. Looking on Google, Play and Amazon, the best price I can find is £380 and that's from a seller with no reviews; personally, I wouldn't touch someone like that with a bargepole. All other sellers look to be £440+ with Play and Amazon both quoting £460 for an unlocked HD.
