Pets in the ceremony

I was wondering if people could give me their views on having pets involved in the ceremony.
I am getting married in July 2013 and i love my dog to pieces. Quie a few people have asked what we will do with her on wedding day and everyone expects us to put her in kennels. However i refuse to do this as she is a rescue and it would stress her too much.
Anyway i love the idea of having her deliver the rings to us at the right part. The church we are getting married in has two aisles and by the time we get married we will have another dog so thought that it would be nice to have each dog come down a different aisle, both carrying a ring in a pouch around their neck.
However my parents and also the oh's parents said that it is a stupid idea but it is really bugging me as my dog(s) are my family and its not like i expect my nephew to not to be invited.
What are everyones views on this?
I still need to ask the minister if she would mind but i know that she is a dog lover herself so dont think it would be too much of a problem.

I wouldn't like it. I know of one couple who brought the dogs to the church but only outside, then they were taken away again.0

I think it's quite a sweet idea, but it depends on the dog/s too. If she is a rescue, is she quite a nervous dog? Putting her in a strange place with loads of people could be stressing for her too. Also, how well trained is she, she won't leg it or wee up a pew will she?!
And I wouldn't give a **** what anyone else thinks, it's your wedding day so it's up to you and your oh. It's nothing that affects them, its not going to ruin their day, so what's their problem with it?0 -
Also, have any of your guests got an allergy to dogs? I love dogs but can't go near them0

We've talked about including our dogs too. If you want it and the church allows it then go for it! I know that ours would come to us with the rings when called so why not go ahead with it!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000

Sorry but after reading this post, I've just realised how stupid this thread sounds.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -

there's going to be a dog at my wedding but that's because he's my nephew's assistance dog (my nephew is autistic) and therefore a working dog.
if we're lucky he'll be the one that gets my nephew walking down the aisle, if not then we'll have the biggest kid magnet ever at the wedding.0
