Npower. Sick of their pressure selling

Just had 2 numpties from Npower on the doorstep again, had another 2 just before Christmas who were just the same.

Bragging that they are the cheapest energy provider in the North West. Well they're not, not according to every comparison site and my own calculations.

They wouldn't go away even after I asked them to leave. I resorted to shouting at them after nearly 10 minutes of telling them I wasn't interested.

Apparently this guy must be some kind of 'special one' as he can give me a secret deal, only available from him and his mate, and only available today.

Twice he tried to walk into the house without being invited, and then demanded to see my bills. When I told him they were online he said. 'I want to see them, i'll prove I'm right'.

I never get any other company on the door, always Npower, and these last 2 times they have been horrendously pressure selling.

Just spoke to Npower customer services and they're not bothered. They'll pass on my comments apparently.

  • It's like cockroaches infesting the whole nation.. :D

... and you may probably receive their STANDARD apologies letter which they have NO problem with sending.

At least you managed to kick them out! So very well done !

They're seriously EVERYWHERE ..take a look at these...

  • I had Npower at my door today to discuss my £200 rebate I am due because my supplier was overcharging me. I told her were to stick her £200 and get off my property. " Do not pass go Do Not Collect 200 Dollars" :D

We live out in the sticks and the two canvassers we're guaranteed to still get knocking on our door are Npower and the Jehovah's.

Best way is to cut them off as soon as you can so they don't have a chance to get into their stride. Once you try and engage them you'll never get rid.

If you PM me, I'll give you an email address of someone at Npower who will take notice of your request to opt out of sales visits and if it happens again will no doubt give you sufficient compo.
Check MSE for tips on no cold calling signs for your door.

Make a formal complaint via their website. That way these complaints get registered and counted. Doorstep selling is being monitored by Consumer Focus/Ofgem and if there is sufficient evidence they will be fined yet again.

Furthermore,it bring about a withdrawal of this worthless practice.
  • I blame Thatcher. I'm not joking, I really do. Selling off the state utility to fund the unemployment bill will surely go down in history as one of the great !!!!-ups.

    Hi dori2o

I'm really concerned to hear about this and I'd like the chance to have a look into this for you?

Can you send the details (date, address, time etc) to forumresponse@npower.com and we'll look at this straight away for you. Moving forward, I can also arrange for you not to receive any future calls from our sales advisors.

    Best Wishes
    Sally :)

Tut, tut, you may want to have a look at the code of practice here before preparing your complaint

    http://www.energy-retail.org.uk/salespractice.html

You are incidentally quite within your rights to physically remove them from your property by reasonable force should they refuse your instructions to leave in future!
