Can i use a third party to start a new contract yet still stay with the same provider

I'm currently on a 3 pay-monthly contract. I've been with them for 10 years and as am happy to stay with 3 as their price plans are very competative. However, i'm coming to the end of my contract and want to upgrade to an Iphone4. This means coming off my existing price plan (which after 10 years is a pretty good deal) and effectively starting all over again.
What i want to know is, can I start a new contract - still on the 3 network- with someone like Mobiles.co.uk ( Carphonewearhouse as was) or would i still count as an existing customer?

You can start a new contract with the same network, but they won't let you move your old number to it (its called a backdoor upgrade and the networks don't like them).
If you wanted your old number you'd have to port it to another networks payg and then port it back after a week or so.
If you just wanted to upgrade your contract then any of the dealer can do that for you with out any of the issue above.0
