Hi,

In October I got some letters from Wescot Credit Services chasing me for a credit card account that was in default from Lloyds TSB. I have never had a credit card from them so asked for a copy of the credit agreement. After months of chasing them for it Lloyds suddenly took the account back from them and passed it to their solicitors. On the 29th of december I contacted the solicitor and asked again for a copy of the credit agreement. After 19 days of waiting and chasing still nothing. I am just trying to figure out what to do next. Any help would be appreciated. I have recently applied for credit and been refused and think this is the problem. Until this I have had a perfect credit record.

This seems to have been going on for 8 months. Did you not speak to Lloyds - or your Dad - about this mysterious loan?

Get on the phone to Lloyds and or the solicitor and talk to them. If its not your debt, you need to tell them ths and get it sorted, because you won't get credit until you do.
  • Hi,

I turns out the loan and credit card are my fathers. The credit agreement has his DOB but it's on my credit file. Anyone know how I get my credit file cleaned up since Lloyds haven't been helpfull?

On part of your credit file, it should list each company that appears and the contact details for them.. I would suggest using these and keeping a log of everything that is sent, phone calls etc.

Might be worth sending in a complaint also:

You can also submit a "notice of correction" to the credit reference agencies, which will appear on any searches made on you (and any made recently as well, I think).

However, if you were a lender and a proposed customer's credit file showed defaults, would you believe the explanation given in a "notice of correction"?
