Anyone on Virgin 50Mbs?

If so, what is the actual line speed like and also what is the latency (ping)? I do a lot of online gaming on Xbox Live so low latency is critical for me but 50Mbs wouldn't go amiss either!

Is Virgin 50Mbs simply marketing guff or is it real?

I have been happy with the 50mb service, I have had it for well over a year now and no major problems at all.

My area probably has a bit more congestion than that as I rarely see 49.9Mbps although it is virtually always somewhere over 45Mbps. My area has had the upstream upgrade and that is usually over 4Mbps.





Despite most people getting good speedtest results I hjave read of people downgrading from 50 to 20 and saying that that works better for them when gaming. Makes no sense to me but I don't do any gaming so I can't comment.

VM's 50Mb/s service should give you near on 50Mb/s.As the cable service runs differently than a DSL service & runs over the same line as the TV,you cannot adjust latency ect like you can on a DSL line.
The Forward, & more importantly,the Return Path being adjusted correctly on install is more important.

i've had the 50mb for a couple of months now..

Normally get above 40mb..
Uploads around the 1.5 mark...
Wanted to upload all my photos and videos and it said 4 hrs...ill wait until upload speed increase
