Sorry if this is old news but I hope it might help someone else to save a little bit of money!
I'm on a 24 month contract with O2 and have been spending about £10 monthly on data usage with the Web Daily Bolt On (which charges for data but caps spending at £1 per day). I used to have the 'Unlimited' Data Bolt On which was £7.50 per month but cancelled it in an (failed) attempt to save money.
Anyway, the other day I emailed O2 to ask for the Unlimited Bolt On to be put back on. They came back to say they no longer offered this. I asked them what they would suggest as I was finding the Web Daily a bit expensive and they replied within a couple of hours to say they'd put a 500MB Data Bolt On free of charge effective from the next day!
So I'll be saving £7.50 every month and without having to change my tariff or contract end date! :j
I imagine there is something specific about my contract circumstances that have led to O2 giving me this allowance for free (e.g. I've less than 1 year left to run on contract, more than 300 voice mins per month, have never changed my tariff and have been spending on data most months), but anyone who has an old contract and the Web Daily Bolt On might want to check with O2 to see if they can have this replaced.
