I would love a fish and chips van! It wouldnt bother me about the greasiness either because and take note of this McKneff...
I would use the little wooden fork. Amazing invention, and the fingers dont get greasy. Brilliant.
As for the smell it would be far less than you imagine as the cooking is done in the van outside. No different to a hog roast really.0 -

With that rude attitude, id be surprised if you were invited in the first place!!
No it wasnt rude at all, the OP asked for opinions, i gave mine.
If you dont want negative advice, dont ask for advice/opinions .make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Definitely check with the venue on where you were planning to park the van and also get an idea from the owner on how many people they can serve at once. If you want to get the food out quick I am sure they can portion some up in advance and keep it warm.
I like the idea of a fish and chip van and it's a good way to keep the costs down. I wanted to sell tickets to my own wedding but my (future) wife vetoed it

Erm they asked for advice on her brothers enterntainment, not the food they were serving.
There are ways of voicing your opinion without describing it as 'cheap and nasty'.What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
I agree with McKneff, the fish and chip van idea does sound a bit tacky.0

I like the idea
. I suppose its how they are served as well . Eating from chip paper would be a potential grease nightmare. Having it in a nice type of serving tray with cutlery at a table sounds fine. Queuing up for ages sounds annoying but a nice quiz or some activity and sending people a table at a time would be fine. Its how its arranged will be if its doable for you and your guests. 0 -

No they didnt, the first line or should I say the Title said
'What do you think about this'
then went on to the detail of the fish and chips and then came the brothers entertainment, you need to re-read the OP

Sounds fab to me! It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I were a guest at a wedding and they had a fish and chip van!
But take note of what twirkly said about people waiting outside in a long queue xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I think its a bit 'last year' with the fish and chip van idea. But the entertainment sounds good.0
