I sold a brand new straight out of the pink big box soap and glory hand cream, for £2 plus £2 P&P.
The buyer paid after 5 days and has now claimed it is 'significantly not as described'.
I first got this email;
Her: really dissappointed, i buy this all the time and this tube isnt full and has been used..what are you going to do about it
Me: m sorry you think that, it came straight from the soap and glory big pink box at Christmas - it has never been used- I'm allergic and so cant use it. Perhaps it has settled in transit and so seems less?
If you send it back I will of course refund in full for you, as I don't want you to be disappointed.
Her:I've already paid £2 for p&p so am not prepared to be out of pocket by paying costs for returning it otherwise I should just have gone to boots to buy it, are you prepared to reduce and offer some refund?
Me: Hi, sorry but I know I sent it full, so my only offer is for you to send it back and I will refund in full. I will then be sending it back to boots as they clearly didn't fill the bottle enough! Let me know when it's on route and once received I will activate the refund xhelen
Her: Thats a very sarcastic email...so dont bother I will leave you appropriate feedback and just buy this from the shop in future!!!!!
Is there anything which can happen beyond me getting a neg? I've taken a gander at her feedback and a couple of sellers have had this problem with her - but they show as positive in her feedback.
I've obviously blocked her ID now - do you think I was sarcastic and brought this on myself?
I can't believe I am worrying over a £2 item!

sorry, more from me... thanks for staying with me this far folks! I got a neg... not too fussed but peeved as she is lying. ITEM BEEN USED-CONTACTED SELLER REFUND OFFERED IN SARCASTIC EMAIL- NOT RTN P&P!!
Please could someone help me respond, so far I have; Item was new, full refund offered on return but buyer expected item and refund! If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Have you tried posting on the ebay forums where you may get some replies? There is not really much more you can do if you offered to refund, not much you can do if they post a negative review. They are probably just fishing for money back. If they did leave a negative you could contact eBay and see if they would remove the negative but don't hold your breath.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

Cheers, I thought as much. Sorry to those reading this, it was sort of a rant rather than an actual question
I have left a follow up feedback to my feedback and I am composing something now for my reply to hers... funny thing is she has over 2000 feedbacks! If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Hi,
No I dont think you came across sarcastic, and did everything the same way I would have done.
If she was genuine she would have accepted a refund, I had a buyer leave me negative feedback for a trading card I had described as slightly damaged, she had not read my description properly and eventually after I contacted her to explain the unfairness she withdrew it and changed it to positive. Good luck0 -
The fact is, since eBay have prevented sellers leaving negative feedback for buyers, it has encouraged the 'buying opportunist' to jump from one seller to another, making all kinds of angry acusations.
They target 100% feedback sellers and effectively hold their reputation for ransom: they want a refund AND the item. If they don't get it, they'll leave negative feedback. However, even if they do get what they want, they often still leave negative feedback.
Don't worry - there are still many more honest people using eBay than dishonest ones!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

I don't think removing the ability of sellers to leave negs has had anything like that significant an effect.
Half the buyers on the Buyer Central board are still worried sellers can leave negs for them if they leave bad feedback."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Saying this just puts sellers browsing here off treating buyers with genuine problems seriously.

Reading the OP's description, I concluded that if the buyer genuinely had a problem with the item, I believe they would have simply contacted the seller to state the problem and expressed the desire to return it for a refund. That's what any regular, honest buyer with a genuine problem would have done and the seller indicates their willingness to pursue this course of action.
But the buyer states that they want to keep the item ... and receive a refund (full or substantial).
After the seller has offered to refund in full, after the item's return, the buyer states "don't bother I will leave you appropriate feedback". In other words, "either you let me keep the item for free (or heavily discounted) ... or I'll neg you!""The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."

I had a similar problem with ebay last year. I went through their resolution centre who were excellent. They removed the negative comment that had been placed on my feedback. Took a few weeks though. Good luck.0 -

If you've enough characters left I'd try to work in something like:
Buyer's f/b suggests she often does this.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

Sellers in general are tippy toeing around all the time as they do not want to scare the punters in case they get a neg. Genuine punters will usually return the goods. It's the lets have a go and see if I can get it for free punters who spoil ebay for the seller and in the long term for the punters as well.Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D0
