Spam Buttons

Hi there
I wonder if anyone can elaborate why there are no spam buttons on the following boards;
[STRIKE]
Other asset reclaim
[/STRIKE]Correction there are buttons on here
PPI reclaim
Debt Free Wannabe
These three boards have a high chance to be spammed due to claims management companies, debt management companies etc. I went to report a post which I saw on there, and there were no buttons.
I have noticed that there are no spam buttons on the Pensions, Annuities and Retirement Planning board and Debate House Prices and the Economy.
It just makes it harder for us to report the spam to you, to try and keep the forum clean, as it is officially unmoderated.

The music board is another one and there are a few others too, it does seem odd0

Hi Folks
Initially we limited the places the spam button was deployed so we could gauge it's effectiveness and also observe how people used it (for the right or wrong reasons). We evolved it from being able to only remove threads, to the ability to remove specific posts on these trial boards and tweaked and monitored again.
You are correct though that it could potentially be rolled out to most, if not all boards, and I will mention it to the team for discussion.
Thanks.

Debt Free Wannabe
There are certainly spam buttons on DFW.
Although, the system seems to be set up in an odd way, so that if a thread is made a "sticky" the spam buttons no longer appear.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

It's a tad annoying, as many of the spammers (or people posting nonsense to up their posts count) understandably target sticky threads, as they are at the top of the boards.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Agree, I think it must have been a sticky I looked at with a certain spammer this afternoon. They were only posting on stickys, which means you have to go through the abuse form.Best Regards

I reported someone for abuse in a thread I had started, who only knew the word for canned meat and could copy and paste it probably 50 times , but the whole thread was taken down, despite there not being any reason for it. Even an email asking what the reason for the removal was not answered. It was not spam, but it would be nice if you had the courtesy to give a reason. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Hi Geotherm
I've had a look and reinstated the thread.

It would be useful in light of the amount of spamming going on at the moment. I asked the question once or twice earlier.
