If the other family are so controlling over a wedding, wait till grand kids come along! You will have to fight for a look in!
  • I feel much better about everything this morning thanks to your support; I also discussed the issues with friends over dinner last night. I have made my offers of help and have been rebuffed so that is that, I will now just sit back and let them get on with it. As far as an outfit goes I will not ask her mother again about what colour she will be wearing. If that means I have to go shopping a few days before the wedding then so be it, I am not getting involved in her power play. Thanks to all for your support and kind comments.

Why don't you go ahead and pick your outfit and casually drop the colour into a coversation? That way you are not being held ransom by her, waiting for her to make her mind up.

I think from what you have said it is very much their loss - I am sure you would have made a very valuable contribution to the wedding.

    Good luck!
