Internt not working, Landlord wants rent

Hi,
I'm a student living in private accommodation. My landlord is wanting the rent, but as the internet package is inclusive of the rent and in my contract, therefore this means that I am bound to paying rent if I have all the amenities I am paying for.
The internet is currently not working during exam time, which is when we crucially need it. The landlord is still wanting the rent and has threatened to charge us if we delay the rent further.
The landlord is part of the mainstay accommodation group.
What shall I do to back myself and my friends from being overcharged. We've told him that the internet is part of the contract but the landlord has been abusive and a bully.
please help me.
many kind regards

You shouldn't withold all the rent, pay him most and withhold a portion to cover mobile broadband costs on a PAYG basis until it is fixed.0 -
from what I've read on the student sub forum with holding rent is not what you're supposed to do, I would go along to your uni's accommodation department and they will give you very good advice,
also it should also make you landlord bend over pretty quick as they will not want to risk the university actively not recommending their house(s)0
