    thanks Frugal,

I have had the kitchen towels and t-towels out on the line all day today as although frosty first thing has been dry and bright.

I have also had the bedroom windows open to get a blow thru the house as it has been a bit stuffy the last few nights.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman
  • Had two days of sun here and feel quite Spring like. I need to clean the outside of my windows for a start. I only have a small yard but there is a sort or raised bed of soil in a sunny spot so Im thinking of growing something edible but dont know what. Its not very deep so spuds may not be good. How do you keep slugs away?

I tidyed my daughters room up and decluttered a bin bag of rubbish and bag for charity. Its not quite warm enough for t shirts but a lot of the sales have t shirts and summery stuff really cheap. I got 2 vest tops for £2 in one shop. The assistant was most impressed when I said I was preparing my summer wardrobe.

I think the end of Feb is when Spring gets going. I carnt wait for better weather so I can get my laundry fix of hanging washing out!! Love it (sad I know):rotfl:

    ooops very naughty of me.

Frugal you're in bother as I've been looking at my window sills and not only do my window frames need a good spring.. wesh! but the window sills need a paint and the wall underneath plus the skirting board needs a gloss and the carpet needs a clean. 'Tis all your fault you know :p;):rotfl:

Nope a good spring cleaning list is what I need to do. plus I like writing lists :D

It was nice to get some washing out today in the sunshine... but even though it's sunny, its soooo cold! I keep putting off going out to get the washing in!!! (got to go, can't put it off any longer... will put the kettle on first so I can have a cup of coffee to cuddle to warm my hands when i get back in)
  • Frugal, great idea for a thread (and very timely!). I've been getting desperate here with the constant rain/gloom. My Spring aims are:

More decluttering - I want to be ruthless

Garden tidying and de cluttering - finally get rid of those pots with unidentified contents

Window cleaning and put up curtains I made last month - pale cream background, very Springlike

    Buy paint for outside jobs

Get outside and enjoy it! Did this today, first decent day for ages, and feel better for it.

Look forward to following this thread.
  • Oo I need to get some wood stain for my garden furniture and yard gate and get them tarted up ready for having a nice brew in the spring sunshine!

I need to get the outside of the house painted too this summer, will start getting some estimates, no way am I going up a ladder!

I'm feeling springlike today as well - sure it's the glorious sunshine we had this afternoon

When I brought wood in for the stove I was less worried about how much it has dwindled over the last 6 weeks - after all soon be time to stop using the wood stove

    To do list includes -

    - Sorting out my husband's summer sweatshirts for the Charity shops - nearly 18 months since he passed away - time to let go :undecided

    - Springclean the spare room - the bed is in there somewhere :p

    - Clean out kitchen cupboards and the fridge freezer

    - Gather up tools and put away in the garage - that's what tool boxes are for!!

    - Clear garden beds of accumulated leaves - the cold snap caught me out

    - Get friend with circular saw organised to coppice hazel - part of next year's wood supply ;)

Stop listing now before I scare myself and not dooooo anything :rotfl:
  • What a great thread!

We too have had two days of more or less full sunshine here, i have a small raised bed for my veggies so I dug in some manure I got from a local farm and fixed my home made cold frame as its just plastic wrapping from a double mattress and the wind blew a huge rip in the top so that had to be temporarily fixed :o

I really need perspex but I need it super cheap, I also dug over the borders and filled the compost bin with leaves that had accumulated under my children's little trampoline :)

I picked the last of my cabbage's today so the pot can be used for something new this year and just waiting on my swedes now but they are not quite ready :)

I can't wait for it to become warmer, a few of my bulbs have started to appear but I don't want to get too excited yet as after all, we live in Britain :rotfl:
