Tiscali Broadband - Cancelled

I 've been with Tiscali for over a year with no problems, but decided to transfer to the free Orange Broadband (as I already have a £30 a month mobile account, and they were offering free broadband).

The transfer went without a hitch (using a MAC code transfer). I received a letter from Tiscali on 12th October confirming my account had been terminated, but not to cancel my direct debit as they would do it automatically.

However, they have today taken £14.99 out of my bank for the broadband connection between 1/10/06-31/10/06!!! No wonder they didn't want me to cancel my direct debit!!

Has anyone else had any problems cancelling with Tiscali, and what are they like for refunding the money they shouldn't have taken?

your at least lucky to have got a MAC code out of them. They lied to me saying that my line was not compatable with a MAC code which both BT and Sky diagreed with.

I cancelled over a month ago and they have still left a marker on the line which basically means I cannot transfer IP

Their CS are useless

I suggest getting in touch with your bank and showing them proof you cancelled and claimimg on the DD guarantee as my experience is you caould be waiting a long time to get a refund - just do a google search on tiscali and you'll see what I mean
