It doesn't cover 3g, and they don't like people trying to use the SIM in 2g phones

    so I need a 3g phone??

I've just listed the Motorola RAZR V3x on eBay to raise some cash, what would be a good phone to buy then?

As I really dont't get on with the Motorola

what 3g phones are available then??
  • You need a pin number to unlock a 3 sim to work in a 6230 or 6230i but 3 will not give it to you.

There would be no point because Hutchison 3G is to stop its 2G network coverage which is powered by O2 by end of 2007 as their own 3G network is almost complete. So from then on, your 2G phone will not work at all with the 3 service.

Alternatively, you could buy 3G phone from as little as £4.99. They are selling Motorola C975's for £34.99 with £30 credit.

Furthermore, SKY mobile tv is coming to 3 too

if you get your phone open to take your 3 sim card.. it will only be blocked in a week anyway. like other posta u need a 3g phone. there is a wide range.. nokia N80, N70, N73, 6233,6280. sony ericsson k610i,k800i, lgu880 (muse), lgu8830. samsungs are a bit more trickier with only the Z500(about £60 on ebay) or Z400. these are still pretty expensive phones (apart from LG) so good luck!!

This is wrong in several respects:

It is the phone not the SIM that is locked or unlocked. And the OP says the phone is already unlocked from a different network, so 3 would not be involved in unlocking it.

3 do not want 2g used where there is 3g coverage; that is the reason why they will not allow 2g phones to be used now or in future.

But 3 are not abolishing roaming on another network. The O2 agreement will be superseded by one with Orange, as announced in May.
