Car Park mayhem!!

Just thought I'd share my little experience that I had last night.

I went to Poole Quay, Dorset to watch the fireworks, which were dire, and only lasted 15 mins.

Anyway, I had parked in the Sainsbury's car park, and after they had finished we made our way back to the car. Was back quite early to the car park, so got in the car and headed towards the exit.
Got half way, and there was a small queue, so I sat behind it, and waited, and waited..........................and waited.

1 hr and a half later, I get out the car park. All the jams were caused by people not giving way to people. I couldn't believe it!! I saw cars touching each other's bumpers, just so there was no gap for someone to fit into!

I let a car out, and all the cars were beeping at me from behind!! So I let a few more out :D I was in no hurry!! People ended up driving out of the pedestrian access!! Couldn't belive it!

What is this country coming to?

Good on you for letting more people out. I always try to let at least one car out when I see a queue - if everyone did that it wouldnt take long and wouldnt add much longer to the journey.

I always say act towards others as you would prefer to be treated yourself

Something really made me mad today. I was at school picking up my daughter. I approached a junction and there was a woman attempting to cut the corner coming towards me. She swerved and didn't turn in after all. She was on the phone - and right outside the school. She is a parent and had just picked up her own child. It's bad enough to be on the phone anytime but how irresponsible to do it where there are loads of children going about.

I've got her number (private plate - easy to remember). I wanted to report her but there wouldn't be anything the police could do, is there? Either that or write an anonymous letter to the local paper, naming and shaming her!

I wish there was a decent way of reporting these kinds of things, but unfortunately not

I agree that there should be some way of anonymous reporting or such like but in the end it comes down to proof aswell - how could you prove that she was on her phone etc. You could always raise the concern about the phones being used while driving in the area at school pick up time and the police might do a sweep one day and fine or speak to loads of people that they catch doing that - like they sometimes do for people parking on the Zig Zags or double yellows

    Why ??

Why can't you report giving your name/address & take responsibility for what YOU are doing.

So if you make an incorrect/false allegation, you can be held to account.

    Having 2nd thoughts now ??

No Im not having second thoughts - I could report it and the police have the details but I sure wouldnt want the person at the other end finding out who reported them You can do it for benefit claimants!

Vigilantism is the only answer. Slash her tyres... I feel like doing that to people who park in parent and baby spaces.

    Not always true though.
If you're in a queue of 100 cars and everybody lets somebody in then you're in a queue of 200 cars and the journey will take twice as long!
I often let people in but, if I've been in a queue for 20 minutes I object to somebody turning up on a side stret and expecting to be let in straight away.
Remember, you need to be courteous to those behind you in the queue as well.
    Can I help?
  • Quite right rdwarr!

xzibit - chances are the jam you were in was being caused by people actually letting people out of the side roads.
