You beat me to posting lol. Mum told me about this today. She is going halves with my little sister and having 2 trees each, but they never thought to ask us if we were interested despite us being the ones with all the raised beds/greenhouse etc :rotfl:.

Never mind maybe we inspired them.

Try this link, I hope it takes to the item directly:

    Fruit trees

    It is £29.99 + £6.99 for P&P?

    Edit: Just saw this:
Postage and packaging (P&P) will be £2.00 on all UK orders placed between 09:00 pm on Friday 14th January 2011 and 08:59 pm on Friday 21st January 2011 for all products featured on Ideal World and/or Create and Craft websites. P&P will thereafter return to the normal rates, detailed below under UK Postage and Packing.

Or, for extra £10 you can get 4 pots to grow your trees in as well:

  • This looks very tempting but are they likely to perform well in climates that don't exactly give a great deal of sunshine some years??

and do these not need partner trees for pollinating?

Victoria plum and Stella and Sunburst cherries are self-fertile, I think, but apple and pear would need pollination partner... I have a cooking apple growing in the garden already, so hopefully that would be ok, but about the pear I don't know...

Actually, I have just looked at Keepers nursery, and Braeburn apple is listed as self fertile, and conference pear as partially self fertile. Ok, they might not produce the most fruit, but you should get some.

I have ordered as I was looking for a small plumb tree and local garden centres are between 19.99 - 34.99 so basically getting 4 trees for £8 each I think they come bare rooted.

The P&P is only £2 for a short period if you order over the web should have written that in.

Last year I ordered the Katy apple tree and an Apricot tree from Ideal World, both dwarf, the apple tree was great produced apples lovely large pinky red and sweet, even in its first year in the garden, I can't comment on the Apricot has it was planted late in the season.

I've had a few fruit bushes and trees now from Ideal World and up to now very pleased with the quality.

I have just ordered this. Also, don't forget cashback - Quidco does it, possibly some other companies, but I only use Quidco - it is 4% for garden sales.

  • Have given in to the temptation myself and gone through TCB.

I really hope these can be trained to grow along a fence/wall because space may be a problem. Still the kids are growing up and the garden shouldn't be a playground in the summer for much longer.

I always look up reviews before ordering from a new company and Ideal World have VERY poor reviews on delivery and customer service. I tried to post a link but not allowed! If you google "ideal world reviews" you can read for yourself. The first page of reviews were ALL negative. I didn't bother reading any further.
