get a SEAT LEON or a SKODA FABIA instead. save the money for the badge snobbery.
Brother in law has a Skoda Octavia and said he finds it better put together than the VW Passat he had.I have a cunning plan!

I heard similar reports about the Skoda being better than the VW equivalent, including our cabbies who are switching to Skodas from Passats.
IMHO, I think VWs are over rated. Having owned a nearly new Golf VR6 (thus VR6lad) I was really disappointed with build quality and the drive. It was reliable though.
Out of the Golf and Beetle, I'd go for the Golf everytime. The turbo diesels are excellent and will be a doddle to sell on when the time comes.'Money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery'0 -
Are there any Beetle lovers out there???????There is nothing I can be, do or HAVE!!!!!!!!

Two ways of looking at it
1) they're a bit of fun
2) they're a naffed up Golf
If you like them though there's nothing wrong with them really and if you think they're fun then go and look at a few.Happy chappy0 -
Get the new shape Polo GTI. Nice car, not many about, looks much nicer than the last shape. Or a Fabia VRS.
Beatles are ok if you like the look of them and find it comfortable, but would think they depreciate a bit quicker than other cars.matched betting: £879.63

about £12k approved used...ouch! Guess it's because it's so new. Nice though.
Get a fabia vrs then.
Nice car, worth a test drive. Or your beetle. MK V Golfs are boring imo, and dodgy electrics. Seat would be worth a look as well (Ibiza FR maybe - again havent looked at prices). matched betting: £879.63

Most VWs are pretty boring though, close call between a Parasite (Passat) or the rep master Golf. Things picked up a bit with the 4wd versions, but way too heavy. New Polo is now the equivalent of the original Golfs I'd guess, with the Lupo taking the place of the original Polo.Happy chappy0
