Now I'm not sure about Borneo, but do you need jabs to go to New Zealand and Singapore? Singapore especially is one of the cleanest places I've ever been too.
I had a wide variety of jabs to go to The Gambia years ago and had to pay for some eg, Yellow Fever. I think anyway, its been a while..0 -

you dont need any for NZ or SP but always worthwhile getting your tetanus and hep jabs just incase your in the water or you have an accident - the same as you would here.
its borneo where you would need 1 or 2 maybe but only depending on the length of time you were there"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

Presumably the advice is from non-taxpayers....it's very easy to spend other peoples money [ask the gov], but I doubt of one of them would put their hand in their own pocket to pay for the OPs jabs.
Isn't it a disgrace that the NHS doesn't pay for your sunglasses!!!!!!!!!!
So, because me & my oh have saved & gone without for three years to make this trip, you call us rich, your talking out of your backside.
For your information we both work full time, we pay taxes & NI & don't claim a penny from anyone.
Now if you had read my first post(which obviously you had not) my moan was about having to fork out £200 for jabs that i think i should have got for free from the surgery, but due to a lack of common sense from the practice manager it did'nt happen.if i had known then what i know now0 -
When I went to Tanzania I had to pay for:
Hep A
Men A and C
Tetanus, polio, diptheria
Hep B (x3) + blood test
Yellow Fever
BCG
rabies (x3)
typhoid
MMR booster
Private prescription for malarone
cost of malarone for 6 weeks travel
I was only 17 at the time, was going on a school trip and had to pay for all of the vaccines and for the blood test to confirm hep B had worked.0 -
People expect the NHS to pick up the tab for eveything...
Anyway as has been said above, the NHS is going to start charging for everything except basic healthcare over the next few years. Already there are discussions about stopping prescriptions for anything available to buy over the counter, charges for home visits (home visits are not part of NHS compulsory services..they are done at the discretion of the doctor), charges for physio, podiatry and similar support services.
These are just the start...welcome to the future....0
